Solent Stinger!!!

I Made the effort to have a go off the beach for a change last night in the hope of bass, smoothounds and the possibility of a stinger.
Sods law...I left the bloody camera at home and sure enough, after a smoothound and a couple of small bass I found myself connected to a lump. No scales or camera had me feeling a bit sour so a phone pic had to do. Estimated weight in the low doubles....one of the harder species to tick off for the year!

After 'carefully' taking a few pictures I 'carefully' slipped her back - none the worse for wear. You have really got to keep your eye on the ball with these things.....that tail rotates a full 360° and you don't want one in your ankle! Really pleased to find one though, there seem to be a few about this year.
