Day Of The Roker

The forecast for Sunday seemed to change all week right up until the morning when it gave the best wind speeds. The plan was to head out from Sandown into the blue yonder in search of anything to nod the rods - perhaps a late cod, ray or an eel...
It was a slow start with the usual pout knocks but as the tide slowed a better bite for Dave resulted in a fish with a bit of weight! Up came this Thornback, which for some reason have eluded Dave for 2 years!

Soon followed another nicely patterned fish, with a handful of doggies.

We changed marks for the ebb tide and only fished for the first hour due to the light fading. Time for me to bag another thornie and get bitten of by a better fish, a probable eel looking at the trace line - would have liked a look though :-/

By the end of the day the sea was a millpond, happy days!
