Bream Fishing with Sadie! - Sandown Bay

"It's not fair Dad.....I want to go out in the boat fishing with you" is a phrase that keeps popping up from my youngest - Sadie.
Jake had his first trip in the boat at her age (3 years old) and so I conceded on the promise she wouldn't ask to go home after 10 minutes at anchor....Daddy wanted to fish too!
So with a few bream about and a good forecast, Dave and I made plans for a short stint in the bay.
I set up a couple of light rods, as did Dave and before long we started to find a few fish. Sadie insisted she fished with her little pink rod and that is exactly what she did. With a bit of patience on both parts she soon latched in to her first fish. She handled it very well and was very insistent that I must not help her wind in - "NO DAD, I can do it on my own". I supported the mid section of the rod while she cranked the reel handle and soon we had her first bream in the net!

She had several more and we all shared in the hectic action for the next couple of hours...

Dave finished the day off with a very nice turbot of 4lb...a good fish for round these parts.

Sadie was great and in the end we had 5 hours on the water....she can come again!!!
