Bream In The Bay

Another window of opportunity presented itself to us this afternoon and so making the most of it, Dave and I had a couple of hours bream fishing......no kids this time!!
Fishing with light rods again we had a hectic couple of hours and a slightly better stamp of fish this time.

Again most bream were males but one or two egg laden females did make an appearance, a good sign and all females went back to spawn. Dave found the best one today - a fat female of 3lb 11oz.

There were plenty of fish on the ground and it was getting to the stage where we were missing fish as a result of fishing two rods. Passing shoals of mackerel hitting the feather rods also accounted for a few missed bream too! Still, nice to see the mackerel turning up in numbers now.

We soon lost the tide with the fish and headed back in to prepare a few fillets for the BBQ!

Hectic couple of hours and I'm glad there wasn't kids involved too......it would have been mad!!
