Green Gold

Fun fishing today in my boat for a change. No bait, just feathers and a cool box ....today we were fishing for bait! Conditions were perfect and with an early morning tide I was confident of finding some green gold.
A 10 minute steam out to the fort and were straight into the fish. They were bubbling and boiling on the surface in patches here and there and steadily  we started to fill the box.
I never tire of a bit of mackerel fishing, its fast furious and fun.....a great way to introduce kids and beginners to fishing too. I'm sure that's what got me started, along with wrasse fishing from the local piers with mates.
We were all done within two hours and after cleaning the boat down we still managed a welcome M'c Donalds breakfast and coffee!
