Island Record Gilthead Bream

It's that time of year again when the chance of a gilthead bream is on the cards. The weather and sea temperature this year as well as a couple of other signs that appear to be related indicate it should be a better year for them than the last one.
The Island record currently stands at 1lb 10oz......by gilthead standards - this is small but we have yet to see any migration of larger fish down here. With real potential of breaking the record, its added incentive to have a crack at these stunning fish.
While I was stuck at work today, Dave was out enjoying himself in the boat having the first crack at finding one for himself. And find one he did...well two actually, the first just 2oz shy of the record and the second....a cracker at 2lb 8.5oz!

A beauty Dave, got to have a crack myself at the weekend ;-)
