Short Shot at a Cod

A real short two hour trip to fish the first couple of hours of the ebb before the wind got up today. Now we are getting into winter the weather certainly doesn't play ball as much so you have to grab every opportunity you can.
On arrival we were just on the swing from the last of the flood and amazingly, had the first (small) cod within 5 minutes!

There was plenty of action over slack with pout and strap congers and everything looked promising for some cod action over the prime time......
The wind got up early and made it hard to fish for the first 30 minutes. When we eventually swung round and could fish effectively it just went dead. Apart from a nice bite that snagged me up on the uptider we had nothing else at all! Very surprising  but hey....fishing is full of them!
