Cod Gold

Cracking forecast for today and with the lack of weather windows over the weekend/early next week, Dave and I organised an all dayer in Rockhopper.
Pretty hectic start, within the hour Dave had his first (and only !) cod of the day aboard at 6lb 10oz.

Within minutes of this fish, both of Dave's uptiders were off...the first was a lovely 14lb 3oz Undulate (new personal best for the 3rd time this year!) and the other was a 10lb 8oz Thornback.

Things quietened off after this, and we had a couple of moves offshore and back inshore with no success. Dave was beginning to taunt me at this stage asking how many cod I had caught...if there is one thing I know it's that piss taking can spectacularly back fire on you sometimes!
Moved to spot number 3, to our "CodGold" mark with a few hours to go, I went on, what can only be described as (Dave's words not mine) a hot cod streak!

Firstly this one...6lb 4oz

 Then ......6lb 8oz

Then these two within seconds of each other.....6-7lbers

And last but not least a 12lb 8oz fish!

Packed it in just in time for tea with a total of 6 cod to the boat....job done!
