Jelly Legs

A trip out with Dale today to chase a few plaice round the back of the Island. The forecast could not have been more perfect - sunny with no wind and great clarity in the water. We were hopeful and with Dale at the helm, I was confident that he would find the fish....he doesn't know any different!!
What an outstanding day it was, taking some very special fish indeed......these big plaice have the ability to turn an angler into a quivering mess (we call it jelly legs!). The heart pounds and the adrenalin flows, it really is addictive stuff. If anyone ever tells you that plaice don't fight, then they have never caught a decent one. These things really go and if they don't like the light, they will take you back down to the bottom like a Pollock on it's first run!
My highlight of the day year was an awesome fish weighed back on shore at 6lb 15oz......I'd love to say it was 7.....but I can't!!

Here are a couple more from the day......one trip that will remain imprinted on my memory for as long as I have use of it!.

Thanks Dale - an unforgettable day!
