Valentines Day Plaice - Blocks

A very cold and early (but sensible) start saw us heading out into a cold north easterly breeze with grey cloud and a forecast of imminent showers. 15 minutes and 3.5 miles after leaving the confines of Ryde harbour we were sat at anchor with the last of the flood tide slowly dying away. Rods were deployed resulting in only a couple of small knocks before the ebb tide began to gather pace.
As expected the action was slow, but predictable in timing. Dave was first to confirm the plaice were on the scene as the first plaice of 2010 was welcomed aboard.

With Bacon on the go and a hot cup of coffee we sat back in the rain and waited for the next inquiry. Fishing was slow and it was bloody cold too but with perseverance we pulled another 3 fish aboard before calling it a day.

Skinny fish, as expected for this time of year but great to see a few spotties this early on. Looking forward to the next go and hoping the weather is just a little bit better!
