The Four Seasons - Blocks

A later start after a good hearty breakfast was just what was needed before heading out. The sun was beaming down and for a change it actually felt warm…….sun glasses on…..more like it!
The sea was nice and flat and had a good deal of clarity to it as well. After floating the boat off the trailer we crept out over the shallows on the sands.

Once we had a bit of water under the boat we were soon under way gunning along on a mill pond like sea. As per the previous trip, the action was slow and the weather…..changeable! Dave again laid claim to the first fish of the day and a half decent one too. This fish incidentally, coincided with the first round of burgers which I have to say were very welcome! - note the nasty black cloud coming our way!

A 10 minute down pour soon followed and the fishing really failed to pick up, so in agreement we headed for another spot that has produced well in the past.
With a mix of rain, snow and hail the sun glasses were replaced with waterproofs but determined to find some more flat’s we fished on.
We were eventually rewarded with another 3 plaice here and a giant ‘Monkeys Wotnot’ that was eating a hooked whelk shell first.

At one stage we took a real pounding from a hail storm, these things were hurting when they hit - so much so that we were holding bucket lids over our heads! Here is a shot of the back seat just to give you some perspective!

Second round of burgers down and rods stowed away we headed back in a slightly more bumpy sea for home again.
With the look of the up and coming weather forecast, its a shame I have to work tomorrow...
