Mackerel Finally Here.....

After the mackerel drought we've had this year it was great to find a few on the last trip out. We weren't confident of finding them again today as it was pretty choppy and the sea was very murky....like it has been all year really - no doubt a result of all the dredging going on.
Inshore lure fishing was out of the question due to the low visibility in the water so we really needed to find those mackerel again this time.
Thankfully we found them in the same area as we did last week. This time there were even more and we had plenty of bait in no time at all.....again nice small Joey's.
With the tide a lot bigger than the previous trip we knew that the window on the bass would be shorter and that's exactly how it went.
The flood kicked in and it went crazy for all of about 25 minutes. We managed 3 fish each and lost as many again - best two were 6lb 12oz...

.....and 6lb 4oz.

We fished on for another hour but we'd had the best of it and shot home not long after.....loving the Bass fishing this year!
