Short one with Pops !

Had the outlaws down this weekend with the added bonus being that the father in law (or 'Pops' to my two monkeys) likes fishing!
Took the boat out early Sunday morning for a little look up and down the Solent. We found a load of gulls working mid way across over some sizeable bass. Scrambling for the spinning rods, we had a fair few on plugs and even on feathers! Unfortunately all too soon the tide started to ease off and they dissipated ...........didn't want to catch them all day anyway, that just would have been boring!!!

Bass gone, we decided to anchor a deep hole and chance our luck for a cod for the remainder of the trip. Not to be however, just a load of dogfish, bits 'n' pieces and a solitary thorny that for a moment did have me thinking 'cod on' :-/

Still, weather was nice, father in law enjoyed himself and I'm not in the dog house for a change!
