Lechlade Line Up

It was time again for another go at the rainbows at Lechlade. Pops had booked us a day ticket with a boat and the mission was to reach our collective 8 fish limit by the end of the day.
The morning started off very icy and I lost a good fish on the second cast. We spent the day moving from marker to marker trying to buy a fish. It was hard going and by 5 hours in I had lost two fish and managed to land one. I was trying every trick in the book until I noticed a couple of fish continually rising over the other side of the lake.
After repositioning near the fish I pulled into one first cast and lost a another on the second. Things were looking up and were soon spiced up even further when a fresh stock of fish were added to the lake. This really seemed to turn the trout on with takes every other cast. I reached my fish limit, cast back out and promptly hooked another, then passed the rod to Pops while I took his from him. He started to play his first fish while I pulled his fly in. I then felt the line tighten up in my hand and hooked another so passed Pops his rod back! It was a real good laugh and within 20 minutes we had reached our collective limit!
Great day out, now preparing for the filletathon!
