Blocks With Jake

At last a decent forecast and a chance to get out and give Dave's new boat a decent run out!!.....target for the day was plaice
We met up at the compound for 8am and we planned to launch 8:30am to catch the last knockings of the flood tide. Jake had been so excited about today that he couldn't sleep! We readied the boat while Jake jumped in for a carnival queen ride down to the waters edge!

After a smooth run over we arrived on time and quickly deployed the gear. The fishing was *really* slow but we kept a steady flow of food and beverages going all day during the bite-less hours - bacon, tea, sausages, tea, burgers and more tea!
Finally after about 3 hours Dave had a proper bite in the full flow of the tide which resulted in the target species! Here is Jake posing with the skippers fish....consolation for the boredom!

The weed was a real pain after this and we decided to knock it on the head. The run back was smooth on a nice mirror sea....even if a bit zig-zagy with Jake at the helm!
An enjoyable day, albeit very quiet but some well needed boat hours under the belt and target species!
