Mullet in the Dark!

Dave and I decided to have a crack at some mullet last night, with the intention of adding another species to the 2007 tally. We were after thick lips and I was intent on catching one over 4lb to qualify for another shimano 'mission accomplished' badge to bring the count back level with him (the badges are a bit of friendly competition between the two of us!).
With essential ground-baiting and preparation these illusive fish can become relatively easy to catch with fighting qualities that are hard matched by any other fish size for size.
As it turned out we had several fish from 3lb to a PB for me of 4lb 12oz (mission accomplished!!).
Just as we were getting stuck in to the mullet, Dave's float sailed away...the culprit turning out to be a bread munching 2lb 8oz bass!

A pleasing night with great results and little outlay at 59p a loaf!.
