So tonight's trip started with a launch in the dark around half 5. The sea was a bit confused and full of colour after all the crap weather we have had over the last 2/3 weeks. Water temps were up on previous years and so we were hopeful of at least some action......although we weren't expecting fireworks!
The night started with dogs and carried on with dogs....one a chuck and not a lot else. Around 8 o'clock Dave announced that he was feeling a bit rough (I thought he'd gone a bit quiet!) and started to go down hill big style!
After emptying his guts in the sea and his arse in his coolbox (first boat poo ever apparently!) he curled up in his chair breathing deeply and shivering like a nervous dog!!
Dave wanted back in early and we compromised on 10pm. After another bout of growling at something over the side I rolled a cigarette and said "I'll finish this and we'll go mate"......half way through it and cod on!.....perfect timing!
Dave done well to hold on for as long as he did and was pleased that we got one on board.....I was happy too with my first one of the year. There were a few other boats out tonight that didn't fair as well as we did so all in all not a bad start to the year.
Looks like we'll get another go come the weekend....
