Out Deep But Still Cold

We ventured out beyond the 10 mile mark today to have a look for a few spurs but those water temps are still well down reading just over 6°C.....and the fishing proved it too.
Hardly a sniff all morning apart from some small pout and a single conger made for a very boring day. At this time of year it should be alive down there but this cold snap has really chilled the sea and kept them out. If anything the boat got a good run, the gear got a shake down and the weather was nice....a few more weeks to go yet until things start to happen and I dont think we will see a bream until May....you don't know unless you keep trying though!
