Slow But Still Productive

Another evening out with Olly to fish the last of the ebb in daylight before a move inshore for the first of the flood. Mackerel weren't hard to find but the bass were - more so while we still had the light on the ebb.
The rays made up for it though as usual, with Thornbacks and Undulates sniffing out the sent of fresh mackerel in the tide......

As the ebb tide died away so did the light and with it followed a move inshore for the first of the flood.
Things took a while to get going here but before too long the fish came on the feed, first up another ray - this time a small Blonde....

The first 'target' fish fell to Olly after a slamming bite on his uptide rod.....that's more like it - Just under 6lb

We stayed on for another hour expecting the bass action to get going but it never really happened. I managed two smaller ones around 2 - 3lb within 10 minutes of each other before we decided enough was enough and shot back in.
With the evening fishing not exactly on fire at the moment and small tides coming I see a day time trip coming up next for a last shot at the plaice this year.
